To those of you with kids/nephews/nieces on FB: I just watched a video on FB security, which said that 400,000 people under 18 have their identities stolen every year. You should talk to kids about the following: -Thieves are clever enough to be able to masquerade as FB friends, so don't trust 100% in your privacy settings. -Safest to not post birthdates at all, but if you must, leave off the year. You don't want thieves to get all 3 pieces of info. Do not talk about upcoming trips. Thieves will know when you will be away from your house. Don't give out your mother's maiden name online (ie- in online quizzes, contests, etc.).
