I love you guys. All of you. Many of you don't even know what a big part of my life you were. Some of you don't even know that you were noticed and I think that is sad. I guess I was one of the lucky ones in that I got a lot of attention for doing things that were just fun to me. I should have taken that attention more seriously I guess but we were just kids. But if I never get another chance to tell you, it was my classmates that made me feel important and worthwhile in my youth. One of my favorite people of all time is Clark McCaw and I don't even know when he graduated and I have never told him how much he meant to me in my life. He was invested in our school and our lives. He took pictures of us when we should have been taking pictures of him. We were his heroes. But he was my hero. He gave everything and I always felt that I let him down in my self centered ways. You may remember him....he was Miles Mac. And so is Jim Smith and Mike Resch and many who have gone before them. They all have one thing in common....they care about how we are today. They care about those of us who left this world long before their time. I want all of you to know that you were very important in my life, even if you didn't think I noticed you or cared about you. And I thank you for seeing me as a person and not just a "jock". I am proud of my athletic achievements, but I would be more proud to just be remembered as a guy who cared about his friends. I am honoured to be a part of the class of '74....you have really "stretched" to include me in your class....I will never forget that.
